With music blending indie pop, alt rock, EDM and even elements of jazz, Joey Whelan is a singer/songwriter whose sound is unmistakable. Originally from Connecticut and now based in New York, Joey started his musical life as a bass player. During his time at Berklee College of Music he launched his career as an artist and as a songwriter, taking inspiration in artists such as Sting, The 1975, and Bleachers. In late 2024 Joey released his first single, “We Were Young Once” off of his upcoming EP, “The Start of Most of it” set to be released summer 2025. TSOMOI is a culmination of Joey’s songwriting evolution, touching on personal experiences, nostalgic musings, and modern qualms, all wrapped up in catchy hooks.
